Christopher Gilley read history at Churchill
College, Cambridge.
He obtained his Masters in history from the School of Slavonic and East
European Studies. In 2007 he received his PhD from Hamburg University with a thesis
entitled ‘Traitors, fools or patriots? The Change of Landmarks in the
Ukrainian Emigration’, which looks at the development of pro-Soviet
sentiment among Ukrainian émigrés in the 1920s. Since June 2005 he has been a
research associate at KICES.
